Senior Project Architect - New York - $75-$100,000 annually

This role is both design-driven and production-focused, with increasing responsibility for technical execution, consultant coordination, and ownership of significant project components under the guidance of the Project Lead and Project Director.

This position is intended for designers and architects with 5+ years of professional experience who demonstrate strong design thinking, growing technical expertise, and the ability to independently lead defined portions of a project while contributing to the overall design vision.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Design Thinking & Design Development
  • Develop 3D models, diagrams, renderings, and plan studies to advance design intent through iterative project phases
  • Lead design development for assigned areas with a proactive, self-directed approach under Project Lead guidance
  • Contribute to design and presentation materials for internal reviews, client presentations, competitions, and design documentation
  • Produce comprehensive drawing sets from concept design through construction documents for assigned project scope
  • Manage time and workload effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining quality and organization

Technical Understanding & Coordination
  • Develop familiarity with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and detailing requirements
  • Translate technical requirements into clear, coordinated drawings and diagrams
  • Prepare coordination drawings, markups, and diagrams for consultant meetings
  • Actively collaborate with consultants to resolve coordination issues related to assigned project areas

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of post-graduate professional experience from Concept Design through Construction
  • Master of Architecture from a NAAB-accredited institution
  • Architectural licensure completed or in progress; AXP and exams underway or completed preferred
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to complex architectural projects across multiple phases
  • Strong design sensibility supported by solid technical and production skills
  • Curious, creative mindset with a willingness to learn and share knowledge with less experienced team members
  • Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, and related digital design workflows
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams
  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
  • Ability to work full-time, in person, in New York, NY
  • Fluency in English

Salary Transparency Statement

Base salary for this role is expected to range between $75,000 – $100,000 annually, depending on experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. This range does not include bonuses, overtime, or additional benefits, which all form part of the total compensation package.
