Conservation Architect – London
5+ Years’ Post-Qualification Experience
My client, an award-winning AJ100 architectural practice, is seeking an experienced Conservation Architect to join their London studio, working on bespoke private residential and heritage-led projects across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected, design-led practice known for delivering beautifully crafted architecture and exceptional technical detail.
The Role
You will lead and deliver projects across all RIBA work stages, working on high-end residential and conservation-focused schemes. The role requires a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work confidently both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects across all RIBA stages
- Produce high-quality technical detailing and drawing packages
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
- Manage project programmes, deadlines, and resources
- Oversee project budgets and financial performance
- Support planning, contract administration, and project delivery
- Contribute to bespoke conservation and heritage-led residential projects
Requirements
- 5+ years’ post-qualification experience
- Strong experience in residential technical detailing
- Excellent knowledge of UK planning policy, building regulations, and construction methods
- Proven experience delivering projects independently
- Strong design, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of building contracts and contract administration
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Willingness to travel within the UK
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on high-end bespoke residential projects
- Conservation or heritage project experience
- Working knowledge of traditional and classical architecture
- Experience using ArchiCAD
