My client is an award-winning, multidisciplinary design firm and has an opening in our Interiors Studio for an experienced Project Designer. Working with and under the direction of a Senior Designer & Project Manager, this individual will play a key role in the development of designs for projects ranging from single family residences to high-profile hospitality properties. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in luxury interiors with strong design skills and the ability to contribute to a fast paced and creative office. You will be based in NYC but have the flexibility to travel based on any project needs.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Participating in design collaborations to develop and communicate design ideas through sketching, drawing, and modelling

  • Production of Concept, Schematic, & Design Development drawings, sketches, perspectives, renderings, and presentations, including finish and material samples boards and graphic presentations

  • Develop & source physical models and mock-ups

  • Source & refine finishes and materials including fabrics, trims, lighting & electrical fixtures, plumbing fittings & fixtures, accessories, and other items required for delivery of the project 

  • Production of Schematic, Design Development and Construction Document level documentation including schedules & specifications as required

  • Manage the project & furnishing budgets

  • Communicate with external consultants and design teams, ensuring these are kept on schedule and to budget

  • Prepare and develop presentations & design documentation 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design. Advanced degree is a plus. 

  • Experience in an architectural or interior design firm

  • Knowledge of the design process, as well as furniture, products, and materials specification.

  • Knowledge of project constructability, costs and code requirements

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and SketchUp
