Our client is a growing company, based in the Financial District, who are socially and community focused. They are currently seeking an Accounting Assistant, with a minimum of 2 years of experience and relevant education. US experience required. Experience in an Architectural/Engineering firm is a bonus. Hybrid working is available.
The general job description includes, but is not limited to:
Accounts Payable processing to include entering invoices, invoice reconciliation, and correspondence with vendors
Monitor employee credit card activity and reconcile monthly credit card statement
Approve and verify employee expense reports for payment
Track proposals and invoices
Identify, research and resolve invoice discrepancies
Create and Maintain project related spreadsheets
Routine and Ad-Hoc Reporting
Deltek Ajera Experience a plus
Assist with various accounting and administrative duties based on the firm’s current established processes as delegated by the Controller
Desired Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:
Minimum educational requirement – 2 years of college with primary focus on accounting/business administration (equivalent experience to be considered)
Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional office environment
Professional telephone manner with strong communication skills
Microsoft Office skills (ability to create basic Excel spreadsheets)
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and understand the importance of deadlines
Strong organizational and time management skills
Maintain confidentiality
Accuracy and careful attention to detail
Strong data entry skills
Knowledge of basic accounting concepts, techniques, and principles (with primary emphasis on A/P)
Have a co-operative and professional manner
